In December of 2009, The Nature Conservancy convened a two-day workshop to identify management strategies that will help nature plants, animals and ecosystems adapt to climate change and lay the groundwork for their implementation in the Gunnison Basin. The workshop shared understanding of the current and potential future effects of climate change eon Gunnison Sagegrouse, Gunnison headwaters and alpine wetlands. A set of strategic actions was formulated that can be implemented to promote resilience and realignment of these three conservation features in the face of climate change.
