Overview

Practitioners can use the products from this report to identify areas within the Landward Migration Zones (LMZ) of Oregon estuaries where early action is likely to yield the greatest long-term benefits. Active restoration, along with land use planning that accommodates future tidal wetlands, can provide ecological function and help human communities adapt to sea level rise. To support these decisions, we integrated the LMZ data with additional spatial datasets describing the potential ecological functions of current and future estuary areas, as well as social and demographic information related to coastal hazard resilience, population density, and infrastructure distribution.
