Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in late 2024.  FLN Networker No. 286

8/28/2019

Issue #286 (28 August 2019) of the FLN Networker. This issue includes news from landscapes, people and projects in California, Georgia, South Carolina, and the IPBN, TREX and national networks. Two surveys—about prescribed fire liability insurance and decision-making constraints in longleaf systems—are requesting input from practitioners. There are also links to advice on reworking outreach pieces for better results; quick guides for community planners and landscapers; some low-cost erosion mitigation strategies; a photo guide to fuel loading (for the southern Appalachians); new LANDFIRE Remap products; a revised version of a wildfire smoke guide for public health officials; planning ahead to allow for conversion to biomass; the article "Rethinking Resilience to Wildfire" and an interactive report on wildfire risk to small communities in the West. As always, listings are included for webinars; FLN workshops; Prescribed Fire Training Exchanges; and conference, workshop and training opportunities.
