Overview

The “Spatial Assessment of Mariculture Suitability” is a GIS analysis of the Oregon coast that identifies locations for new mariculture operations focused on native shellfish and seaweeds in estuary and coastal habitats. The Assessment uses a number of datasets to evaluate sites based on species needs, location attributes and available area that will expand mariculture in Oregon that will have added benefits of restoration in habitats with native species under cultivation.
