Introduction

The Global Mangrove Alliance is a global partnership dedicated to conserving, restoring, and sustainably managing mangrove ecosystems. Founded in 2018, the Alliance brings together governments, organizations, communities, and private sector partners to accelerate action through science, collaboration, and policy. Mangroves play a critical role in climate mitigation, coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and supporting livelihoods. The Alliance works to halt mangrove loss, expand protected areas, and restore degraded ecosystems while strengthening financial access and scaling nature based solutions. Through global coordination and locally driven action, the initiative supports sustainable development and helps communities adapt to climate change. By promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and investment, the Global Mangrove Alliance aims to create lasting benefits for coastal ecosystems and people around the world.
