Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems

Over 10% of Nevada’s landscape is covered with groundwater-dependent ecosystems—important for wildlife and humans—that depend on access to groundwater, including wetlands, meadows, phreatophytic communities, and riparian zones. Nevada’s surface waters also depend on groundwater, rivers and lakes.
