SNAPSHOT USA 2024: Year 6 of the Coordinated National Camera Trap Survey of the United States
SNAPSHOT USA 2024 is a large-scale camera trap dataset tracking mammal populations across the United States. It supports analysis of species distribution, abundance, and activity patterns in response to land use, climate, and ecological interactions across regions.

Abstract
SNAPSHOT USA 2024 is a nationwide camera trap dataset designed to monitor mammal populations across the United States. Collected across 49 states, 12 ecoregions, and multiple ecosystems between August and December 2024, the dataset includes over 377,000 image records and more than 3,000 deployment records. It focuses on medium to large mammals and supports research on changes in distribution, abundance, and activity patterns driven by land use, land cover, and climate. These data provide a valuable resource for understanding ecological dynamics and informing conservation and management decisions at broad spatial scales.
