Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in late 2024. If you’re interested in learning more about the project, reach out to megan.sheehan@tnc.org for more info!

Welcome to Conservation Gateway

The Gateway is for the conservation practitioner, scientist and decision-maker. Here we share the best and most up-to-date information we use to inform our work at The Nature Conservancy.

Data for Land Management: LANDFIRE Process, Products, Applications POSTER

4/19/2012

First presented at NatureServe's Biodiverity Without Borders conference (Apr 24-27, 2012), this poster by Kori Blankenship shows how LANDFIRE works at national, regional and large sub-regional landscapes (such as fire management units). Tools and guidance are available to help users review and modify the data as needed for finer scale applications. In addition to explaining the LANDFIRE process and products, this poster highlights real-world examples of applying the products for calculating nation-wide conservation risk, assessing state-wide forest conditions and comparing landscape-level vegetation restoration strategies based on return-on-investment.

A full-size poster is available, should you want to see more clearly. This attachment is for illustration purposes on the web. Contact Jeannie Patton.
