Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in late 2024. In the spring of 2019, the Cherokee National Forest South Zone Collaborative Group finalized a set of recommendations and sideboards to be used in developing a Programmatic Environmental Assessment for restoration activities (the first for this area). Two important products came from this work:

>  The group's restoration recommendations are documented in "Cherokee National Forest South Zone Collaborative Restoration Recommendations for the Management of Off-site Pine in Dry Forest Communities."

>  A brief overview of the process and advice for other collaborative groups is captured in "Lessons Learned from a Collaborative Effort to Develop a Programmatic Environmental Assessment."
