The Gateway is for the conservation practitioner, scientist and decision-maker. Here we share the best and most up-to-date information we use to inform our work at The Nature Conservancy.

Webinar: Long-Term Fire Management in Colorado

link ANNOUNCEMENT

On January 14, the Southern Rocky Mountain Ecoregion (SMRE) Consortium will host a webinar featuring Mike Lewelling, Fire Management Officer for Rocky Mountain and Great Sand Dunes National Parks. He will share an overview of federal wildland fire policy and information based on his experience managing naturally ignited fires that were allowed to burn throughout the summer of 2010 in both of these very high visibility areas.

Anyone interested in engaging with the Consortium is encouraged to participate in this webinar and to visit the Consortium’s website for additional information and future events.

The SRME Consortium is funded by the federal Joint Fire Science Program and is one of eight such initiatives across the country working to improve communications between the users of fire science information and those that are doing the research.
