Description
This report describes Landscape Conservation Forecasting applied to Boulder Mountain, Utah. The project objectives were to a) increase landscape health by shifting ecological proceses towards natural range of variation; b) reduce ecological departure for targeted systems that can support wildlife populations; c) maintain or improve watershed integrity and hydrologic function to protect and benefit aquatic resources and water quality; and d) complement other multi-use objectives. Partners used high-resolution vegetation maps and state-and-transition simulation models to find the most feasible set of actions that would achieve the greatest conservation outcomes within the multiple-use mandate and within a pre-defined annual budget.
