Technology and Innovation for Enabling PRE-Feasibility Assessments in Watershed Investment Programs Using Waterproof
WaterProof is a decision‑support platform for pre‑feasibility assessments of Nature‑Based Solutions, integrating InVEST and RiOS outputs to evaluate water yield, sediment control, nutrient retention, and carbon storage. By combining hydrological, ecological, and economic analyses, it helps prioritize watershed conservation and restoration investments.

Abstract
WaterProof is a technological platform tailored for pre-feasibility assessments of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in watershed conservation and restoration programs. Leveraging the InVEST and RiOS tools developed by the Natural Capital Project, WaterProof provides critical insights into ecosystem services such as water yield, sediment regulation, nutrient retention, and carbon storage. The platform integrates these outputs into actionable analyses to evaluate and prioritize investments in watershed management. This extended abstract discusses how WaterProof combines hydrological, ecological, and economic insights to enable robust decision-making at the pre-feasibility stage. A case study illustrates its impact on aligning conservation goals with investment opportunities.
