A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in early FY26. LANDFIRE created more than 20 fire and vegetation-related geospatial datasets covering the entire United States. This information packet provides an introduction to concepts, processes and tools that will allow users to review LANDFIRE spatial products and alter those products as needed for local application. The datasets were developed for national and regional level strategic planning and reporting, but because of their comprehensive and complete nature there is a demand for them for finer scale applications. The applicability of LANDFIRE data varies by location and specific use. Users are therefore strongly encouraged to carefully review the data to determine its suitability on a project-by-project basis. Given appropriate review and local modification as needed, there are uses for these data at sub-regional scales.
