Webinar: A model originally developed for use at Eglin Air Force Base was further refined for prioritizing units to be treated at Fort Hood (Texas), allowing more than one fire return interval to be used. Burn objectives for the military installation included fuel reduction and maintenance of habitat for the endangered black-capped vireo and golden-cheeked warbler as required in a US FWS Biological Opinion. The presentation includes a description of the process, a description of the weighting methods used, and a diagram of the simple GIS model.
