Video: State-and-Transition Modeling

State-and-transition models played a critical role in the LANDFIRE Project. The reverse is also true, LANDFIRE played (and continues to play) a key role in the development of state-and-transition models, modeling software, and modeling opportunities.

Both cases will be described to provide additional context about the current status of vegetation modeling and to help identify future opportunities.

This 25-minute video by TNC-LANDFIRE Program Lead Jim Smith, was presented at the PATH user conference of 2011. While PATH is no longer being used, the content of the video remains relevent.
