The Bald Knob wildfire was started by lightning on July 14, 2015. Previous fuel treatments under the Grandfather Restoration Project (CFLRP) were key to enabling managers to decide that the appropriate fire management response was to manage the wildfire for resource benefits while providing for fire fighter and public safety.
