During the summer of 2015, The Nature Conservancy completed the
fifth year of avian monitoring for the Warm Springs Mountain Restoration
Project in the Allegheny Highlands of Virginia. The project spans 18,000 acres
of contiguous lands owned by the Conservancy and the George Washington and
Jefferson National Forests. The
monitoring is part of a long-term study of landscape-scale response of avian
communities to controlled burning.
