Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in late 2024. If you’re interested in learning more about the project, reach out to megan.sheehan@tnc.org for more info!

The LANDFIRE Program produces a rich suite of digital spatial data sets for the entire United States and many island territories. They are updated periodically to account for landscape changes due to human and natural disturbances and growth. Currently, there are more than 20 spatial layers in the data suite, including both current and estimated historical conditions. Importantly, all spatial data layers for all ownerships are created using the same methodology, thus producing a gapless, consistent data framework available to any user at no charge.

Additional information on each of these datasets, including metadata, can be found on the Data Products pages on the LANDFIRE Program website.

Content areas include disturbance, vegetation, fuel, fire regimes and topographic.
