Latest On The Conservation Gateway

A well-managed and operational Conservation Gateway is in our future! Marketing, Conservation, and Science have partnered on a plan to rebuild the Gateway into the organization’s enterprise content management system (AEM), with a planned launch of a minimal viable product in late 2024. If you’re interested in learning more about the project, reach out to megan.sheehan@tnc.org for more info!

Conservation and restoration of Oregon's rivers, streams, and wetlands is essential for salmon and other wildlife. The Nature Conservancy is partnering with Portland General Electric (PGE) to provide funding for restoration projects for anadromous fish throughout Oregon via the Salmon Habitat Support Fund. Money for the Fund is provided entirely by the voluntary contributions of PGE Green Future customers. Customers have the option to donate an additional $2.50 per month when purchasing power from renewable resources. To learn more about adding the Salmon Habitat Support option to your monthly bill, you can visit PGE's website or contact them directly.

The Nature Conservancy administers the Salmon Habitat Support Fund and solicits proposals at least once each year. During years with higher-than-forecasted customer contributions, there may be an additional funding cycle at the end of the year. We accept grant requests between $10,000 and $50,000. Proposals must clearly demonstrate that a project conserves, restores, or enhances habitat for native anadromous fish species.

For more information about proposal requirements and deadlines, please review the latest Request for Proposals in the sidebar or contact Claire Ruffing at claire.ruffing@tnc.org or 503-802-8113.
