The Gateway is for the conservation practitioner, scientist and decision-maker. Here we share the best and most up-to-date information we use to inform our work at The Nature Conservancy.

The SocMon (Socioeconomic Monitoring for Coastal Management) Web site focuses on an initiative aimed at helping coastal managers better understand and incorporate socioeconomic context into coastal management programs. This initiative is being implemented at global and regional levels. The site contains regional guidelines in different languages including Southeast Asia (in English, Khmer, Vietnamese – also translated but not posted in the site), Pacific islands (in English), Caribbean (in Spanish and English), South Asia (in English and Hindi), and Western Indian Ocean (in French, Swahili, Portuguese and English). The site also serves as database for SocMon monitoring sites and reports.
The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.
