This report compiles an annotated bibliography on socioeconomic and ecological impacts of Marine Protected Areas in the Pacific Islands. The literature presented here includes peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, institutional technical papers and unpublished reports. The "impacts" referred in the literature reviewed cover a wide range – from biological and ecological impacts; economic and livelihood benefits; social, institutional and governance systems; and improvements of mechanisms for communications and knowledge sharing. The document includes a collection of references up to June 2008.
