Organizationally, the Conservancy has an online repository of assessment reports from around the world which is called the Ecoregional Assessment Status Tool (EAST). However, the only report on EAST for the Caribbean is the Caribbean Ecoregional Plan. The Caribbean Program has completed or been a part of conservation planning to shape conservation in the Caribbean at the regional, national and site scales. This has taken the form of ecoregional assessments, conservation action plan reports and ecological gap analyses. A list of available documents related to these efforts is below including what is on EAST. The Caribbean, like elsewhere, has applied the Conservation by Design framework to our adaptive management approach. A geographic information system (GIS) based tool, called PAT for protected area tools, was developed during the Caribbean ecoregional assessment. PAT consists of three conservation modules which operate within Esri ArcGIS software and has been used subsequently used in almost all other assessments. More information about PAT can be found here.
