The Gunnison Basin is showing signs of stress from climate change. In December 2009, the Southwest Climate Change Initiative met for a Climate Change Adaptation Workshop for Natural Resource Managers. The workshop focused on sharing information about the known and projected impacts of climate change and developing strategies to reduce its adverse affects on the Gunnison sage-grouse, Gunnison headwaters and alpine wetlands. The attendees formulated several strategic actions to build resistance to the changing climate. Their findings are summarized in this document.
